Overview

Baptist Care SA is looking for volunteers to assist in a variety of roles:

  • WestCare Centre Kitchenhand
    • Asisst the Chef Manager to prepare and cook breakfasts and lunches for our marginalized and homeless community. Serve meals, clean up and pack up after meals
    • The days available are Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursday, Fridays 8.30 - 2pm
  • Community Food Hub
    • Customer Service front of house food sales and service, back of house delivery and food donation intake sorting, storing, and donation pickups. The Food Hub provides a community resource for our marginalized community to be supported in their food needs and in emergency relief situations. The community can get free fruit and vegetable, bread's as well as low costs food items that support their living.
    • Shifts range Monday to Thursdays, 9.30 - 1.00, 1 - 3.30pm or a full day 9.30 - 3.30pm
  • Courtyard Gardener
    • This role is watering, pruning, planting, tidying up new planted pots in lane way, watering and re planting potted plants on walls and garden beds. Sweeping leaves from garden patio, general gardening tidy up and nurturing.
    • ​This role is flexible any weekday, The role can be when Centre is open between 9 - 1pm or in afternoon when Centre is closed 1 - 4pm

All roles report to Kylie Maher

Commitment and Location

The volunteer roles take place on Wright Street Adelaide.
Shifts can be negotiated depending on applicants' availability.

Opportunities are ongoing, and are available as long as this listing is live. 

Special requirements

Volunteers are required to have or obtain a working with Childrens Check, National Police Clearance and Safe Environments training. Baptist care can assist in the clearances and training if successful for the postion.
