Apply now to be a 2025 On Dit Magazine Editor

Are you a passionate and skilled writer or designer? Do you love fast paced and challenging work in a team environment? Have you ever dreamt of running your very own magazine?

YouX is now inviting applications to fill our 2025 On Dit editorial team. We are seeking students with a passion for print media, journalism or graphic design to fill the four positions available. You can apply as an individual or a group, with four positions to fill we are happy to create a team from the best candidates.

Before applying there are a few things to be aware of:

•       You must be an enrolled student at the University of Adelaide for the entirety of 2025

•       There is a significant time commitment required for these roles (up to 10 hours or more a week)

•       It is vital that your study and work commitments allow enough time to commit to the magazine

•       These are largely autonomous roles, so you will need to be self-motivated and organised

What we provide:

•       Opportunities for training and professional development

•       Your own office on campus

•       Support and advice from YouX staff

•       A chance to elevate the voices, opinions and creativity of our students

•       The keys to your very own printed magazine

•       The chance to meet and work with other students and build a community of contributors and sub-     
        editors

•       Editors are also each eligible for a financial honorarium at the completion of their terms once all requirements have been met.

Who we are looking for:

We are particularly interested in applicants with any of the following knowledge, skills or experience:

•       Professional/publication level graphic design skills (preferably using the Adobe suite) and experience working with printers

•      Understanding of journalistic ethics and standards

•      Demonstrated high level writing skills and experience

•      A passion for writing and or copy editing

•      An understanding of social media and website publishing

•      A positive, organised and conscientious approach

You are also encouraged to provide any examples of your work (writing, graphic design or other relevant material).
