Hi, I’m Matt (They/Them) and I would like to represent you as Queer Officer for 2021.

As a queer person, I’m passionate about queer rights, services and support networks. It’s vital that the queer community is acknowledged, supported, welcomed and celebrated on our campus to ensure the continued inclusivity of queer students and staff.

The lack of queer support and services, which help to promote wellbeing on our campus, has been on full display during COVID-19. This is where I’d like to start the campaign for increased funding and accessible services which contribute to building a safer and secure community which proactively meets the needs of students, both online and on-campus. As a Non-Binary person, I will ensure that Trans and Gender Diverse students are actively involved in conversations about queer issues at university.

If elected, I aim to fund and secure support for practical services, increase networks to support queer members within our community, and provide a voice for all queer students so that they receive an equitable opportunity to thrive on our campus, and attain educational success. As Queer Officer, I would be honoured to support this process.
