Students are isolated, poorer and more vulnerable than ever. We need transparency. We need an
SRC that isn’t afraid to tell the University when they get it wrong. We need an AUU that isn’t scared
to pursue a genuine pro-student agenda. Representation exists because historically Universities have
not protected student welfare. The COVID-19 response and recent ICAC investigation shows now is
no different.
This year our team supported:
- Exam Welfare Packs
- Mandatory Sexual Assault and Disclosure training for all representatives
- Your right to vote online (have campaigned for this since the pandemic began)
- Support of the Women’s Collective demands to stop sexual assault and harassment on campus.
Our non-exhaustive plan for next year:
- Expanded Welfare Packs
- ICAC Response: a review into assault handling and transparent annual reporting
- A consultative plan to revive culture starting with Fee Waivers for Club stalls and accessible
- club’s grants
- Accessible SRC advocacy on University Committees
- Transparent AUU meetings (no more hiding behind in-camera meetings)
- Respecting University communities existing on campus (Affiliating the Women’s Collective
- and Pro Choice Club to the AUU)
Our United team care about the education we receive, and the culture we experience too.
