About Me:

I am the current Mature age Officer on the SRC and President of the Mature Students Association for 2020/21. I have been actively engaged with the Mature Students' Association (MSA) for 3 years, as a committee member, and as Secretary. I am in the final year of a Bachelor of Arts. I am also a registered nurse and mother of four kids aged 24 to 9.

My aims:

As an older student and parent, I understand the complex challenges facing mature students. We juggle work, kids, grandkids, study, travel, cleaning, chores, - childcare and school holidays….the list is endless. Many of us are at Uni for the first time and are dealing with the challenges that returning to study can bring. I understand this- I am here to support you. I have been working with the University and the AUU to ensure the voice of our demographic is heard. I have worked with the infrastructure committee to ensure the MSA lounge remains a sanctuary on campus. I will continue to work hard to ensure mature students are included in the decision-making progress. We account for 25% of the student cohort- so make sure your voice gets heard.
