Students are isolated, poorer, and more vulnerable than ever. Representation exists because Universities have failed to protect student welfare, and the COVID-19 response and recent ICAC investigation shows now is no different.

So, is it acceptable that the SRC:

  • Silences students and side with the University when times get tough?
  • Has no interest in being held accountable?
  • Opposes student clubs and societies?

I’m running for SRC General Councillor as part of the UNITE team because I believe student representatives should not leave students behind.

This year our team supported:

  • Exam Welfare Packs
  • Mandatory Sexual Assault and Disclosure training for all representatives
  • Your right to vote online
  • Support for the Women’s Collective demands to stop sexual assault and harassment on campus.

Our plan for next year:

  • Expand Welfare Packs
  • Revive student culture: Fee Waivers for Club stalls and accessible club grants
  • Respect student communities' right to exist (Affiliating the Women’s Collective and Pro-Choice Club to the AUU)
  • ICAC Response: review assault handling and transparent annual reporting
  • Accessible SRC advocacy on University Committees
  • Transparent AUU meetings (no more hiding behind in-camera meetings)

Our team care about your education and student culture. VOTE for the entire UNITE team on the AUU & SRC
