Hi, I'm Xanthe Midwinter (She/Her), and I'm running for AUU Board. The Adelaide University Union provides a fantastic platform for engaging and empowering students. I would strive to use this platform to spread awareness and bring students together around the hugely important crises of our current moment. Through further engagement with students regarding the pressing social issues that concern them, I would aim to encourage students to vocalise their concerns and to realise the importance of their voice.

Changes to HECS, studying under the current global pandemic, and climate change are all different but pressing issues students are facing. It has been such an inspiring experience to see so many university students and faculty members coming together to make their voices heard. I'm a member of Extinction Rebellion, and as such, I have taken part in non-violent civil disobedience, and am a proud promoter and supporter of activism. With each crisis we continue to face, I believe that everyone has a voice and should use this voice to shape the decisions made by others that influence their lives.
