I'm Xanthe Midwinter (She/Her) and I'm running for SRC General Secretary. Our Student Representative Council has the potential to be an effective body in delivering for students. The SRC can advocate for student welfare, run campaigns for better courses and services, and fight for solutions to the biggest challenges we face at uni.

However, none of these things can happen unless the SRC gets the basics right. To be able to effectively represent students, the SRC needs to support its members in delivering, ensuring key indicators are being met, and being open and accountable to students. Too often, the SRC doesn’t do these things. That’s why I want to help make change.

As General Secretary, I will ensure our student representatives get the basics right, and can deliver the results students need. With the changes to HECs, and the current global crisis, the SRC is more important than ever in ensuring student voices are heard loud and clear. I hope to ensure the SRC is in fighting shape, and ready to lead the charge for our rights.
