Hi, I’m Liam Johns (He/Him) and I would like to represent you as a General Councillor in 2021. 

The COVID-19 crisis has fundamentally changed student life. It has led to us studying much of our degrees online, minimising our time on campus, and having reduced face-to-face contact with others. For many of us, these changes have harmed our learning and made it difficult to create and develop support networks. 

Given how damaging these effects are to both our present and future, it is important we are represented by an SRC that actively fights to amend these conditions.

As a General Councillor, I will endeavour to help resolve these issues. I will do this by working with the Education Officer to explore reintroducing face-to-face lectures with appropriate COVID-19 safety measures. Furthermore, I will also work with them to ensure the university adopts a standardised online tutorial style that is able to compete with face-to-face teaching environments. Finally, I also hope to work with the Welfare Officer to improve the university’s support system.
