Hi, I’m Caitlin Battye (She/Her) and I’m running for General Councillor

If elected as General Councillor I will help to represent the many student voices within our university and promote the diverse perspectives that our student body holds. The recent COVID-19 pandemic and the shifting of many courses online has led to less students actively attending campus. I believe it is more important than ever to ensure that student voices are still heard and elevated, rather than stifled behind a computer screen.

I am passionate about assisting my fellow students in making the best of these tumultuous times, and helping to promote a more welcoming, inclusive and accessible environment within the university; one that fits the needs of all students regardless of whether the bulk of their studies are remote or on-campus. Our university has offered me such a rich experience thanks to the facilities, services and the diverse voices present on our campuses. As a General Councillor I will persevere to preserve and further develop that inclusive and energetic spirit that makes our university so great.
