Hi, I’m Aidan Carling (He/Him) and I would like to represent you as a General Councillor on the SRC in 2021.

Currently, students are facing one of the worst crises ever. During this time of uncertainty, it is important that students are heard, supported, and are represented by an SRC that is fighting for them. I believe that current students are missing important social and vocational activities that prior cohorts participated in freely. These past events have aided students in building a future beyond university and connecting with fellow students. In current times, the importance of such opportunities is magnified. 

As the university begins making changes to cope with current events, it is more important than ever for students to have direct input into their rapidly changing needs.

If elected, I will work hard towards ensuring that social and vocational opportunities continue to be offered and sustained throughout and after the COVID-19 pandemic. As students adjust to new circumstances, our vibrant university culture is more important than ever and without strong student input, these aspects of university life are greatly at risk.
