As a Peruvian-born Australian, it is crucial to a student’s positive mental health and overall wellbeing that they can freely express their ethnic or cultural identity. My aim is to have a university campus in which individuals regardless of race, ethnicity, religious beliefs or language can bring their knowledge, experience and interest for the benefit of this community. If elected, I will strive to provide support and guidance to students who identify themselves as from an ethnic or cultural background and promote an inclusive atmosphere where people can flourish and be creative. Furthermore, I intend on creating programs and/or events that will raise awareness on issues such as racism and discrimination. My commitment to diversity is highlighted by my involvement as the French Club president, Spanish Club vice-president & founding member and Greek club member. Additionally, I'm fluent in English and Spanish, and have background knowledge in French, Italian, Korean and Chinese. I believe that it is essential for students from all diverse backgrounds to be represented and be heard. By nurturing healthy and harmonious multicultural societies, we will help Adelaide University thrive while establishing an even more diverse university culture for the future.
