Hello, my name is Oscar Harding and I’m running to be your Rural Officer and NUS delegate with Rebuild! 

I’m running because with the merger around the corner, rural students need proper representation more than ever. In 2025, to address this I want to push for the following policies: 

• Stopping the transition to Default Trimesters, which would completely uproot the Residential College Calendar 

• Bridging the gap between YouX and the Residential Colleges 

• Releasing more of YOUR Student Services and Amenities Fees as University Community Grants 

The Rebuild team and I are REAL advocates for students and the issues that affect them, which is why in 2025 we want to push these causes: 

• A dedicated helpline for students during SWOTVAC and exams as well as capping exam weighting at 50% 

• Embedding the student voice into decision making through constant student consultation  

• Free menstrual products in bathrooms for students in need. 

• Additional practical environmental action on campus and pushing for a greener university 

• Making sure the transition to a new university is smooth for students during the merger. 

We’re progressive and ready to prove ourselves. Vote Rebuild to Make This Union Merger-Ready, and deliver practical change for students.
