Hello, my name is Patrick McLachlan and I’m running to be your SRC General Councillor with Rebuild.

I’m running because I care about my fellow students and want to make sure that students at Adelaide University have a safe and positive university experience. In 2025, to address this I want to push for the following policies:

• Stronger study plans and study plan assistance, especially for new students
• A system to assist neurodiverse student gain information regarding access plans in an easier way.

The Rebuild team and I are REAL advocates for students and the issues that affect them, which is why in 2025 we want to push these causes:

• A dedicated helpline for students during SWOTVAC and capping exam weighting at 50%

• Embedding the student voice into decision making through constant student consultation
• Free menstrual products in bathrooms for students in need.
• Additional practical environmental action on campus and pushing for a greener university
• Making sure the transition to a new university is smooth for students during the merger.

We’re progressive and ready to prove ourselves. Vote Rebuild to ensure that university works for you, especially during the uncertainty posed by the merger and bring practical change for students.
