Hiya!!! My name is April and I am running for the position of Queer Officer for 2025 alongside the talented team at Rebuild. I am running for student council because I believe that my personal experiences and ideas will be invaluable towards the advocacy of Queer issues here at the University of Adelaide.

Many of us know who we are deep down for years but due to a system that continuously medicalises and demonises our existence many of us consistently feel as if we have been left behind by society. Because of this, I believe that it is crucial that we push for the increased awareness of both Queer issues and the LGBTQIA+ presence that exists on-campus.

Due the endemic reality of medical gatekeeping within South Australia I firmly hold that it is essential we advocate for changes to the current model of care for transgender people as well as advertise knowledge that could help many begin their journey due to the ineffectiveness of online resources.

I believe that through Rebuild I can make changes that genuinely can help and provide support to people who desperately need it :) So please Vote Rebuild - for a progressive student council!
