Hello, my name is Madhav Aiyappa, and I'm running to be your General Councillor and NUS Delegate with Rebuild. I'm running because it feels like the concerns of students have taken a backseat to the growing commercialization of universities. Let’s refocus on what truly matters—ensuring students are central to all decisions.
In 2025, I want to push for the following policies:
- Better funding of social clubs, including preserving heritage properties used by them. Example: Union Theatre
- A dedicated supply store like The General, where students can buy reasonably priced snacks.
- Improved collaboration between Universities and Industry give students better post-graduation prospects.
The Rebuild team and I are REAL advocates for students and the issues that affect them, which is why in 2025 we want to push these causes:
- A dedicated helpline for students during SWOTVAC and exams as well as capping exam weighting at 50%
- Constant student consultation
- Free menstrual products in bathrooms.
- Additional practical environmental action on campus and pushing for a greener university
- Making sure the transition to a new university is smooth for students during the merger.
We’re progressive and ready to prove ourselves. Vote Rebuild to prioritize student welfare, and deliver practical change for students.
