Hi, I’m Valerie I’m a Left Action activist running for General Councillor. Left Action has been the strongest voice on campus fighting for justice for Palestine. Our candidates were the main organisers of the Gaza Solidarity Encampment at the University, which exposed our University’s grotesque ties with weapons companies. We have also organised the Student General Meeting to demand our University show solidarity with Palestine. 

The capitalist system is producing nothing but war, oppression and cost-of-living crises for students and workers. Left Action wants to build a fightback against this whole rotten system. We want an activist student union that will organise opposition to every attack on our rights and conditions from the university management.

Each year our education is getting more expensive, while the quality of our education decreases. We understand that students have power when we mobilise and stand in solidarity with each other. This is how we can fight for things such as free education, queer liberation, anti-racism and a free Palestine. Students shouldn’t accept the status quo – we deserve better. If you want an activist student union, then vote for the radicals who want to fight against our rich university bosses.
