Candidate for the position of NUS Delegate

Clementine Cooke-Hall

Hey, I’m Clem! I’m an engineering student and I’m running with Left Action for Welfare Officer.

The cost of living crisis in Australia is a key issue for all students. Students are facing skyhigh rental prices, growing utility bills and overpriced grocery bills. Youth Allowance and AusStudy are not keeping up and neither are wages.

Greedy landlords, money-hungry energy companies and price-gouging supermarkets are benefiting whilst students and workers front the bill. We need a student union that fights back against this. The Labor government has plenty of money for huge defence contracts and fossil fuel subsidies, but cries poor when it comes to rent relief or cracking down on the supermarket giants.

Left Action is not beholden to either of the Major Parties and we’re not just sucks for University management. This is why we want to organise and mobilise students in campaigns against the cost of living crisis and for increased welfare and wages.

If you think the government should spend less money on warfare and more money on welfare then vote for Left Action in the SRC and YouX Board.

Vote [1] Left Action for an Activist Student Union!
