Hi, I’m Seb, an activist running for Disability officer with Left Action.

I’ve been involved in the Gaza Solidarity Encampment and organising the Student General Meeting on campus this year. The war in Gaza has disabled thousands and meant disabled Palestinians have been some of those most at risk, with limited opportunities to receive treatment or flee and take part in evacuations.

Closer to home, disabled people in Australia have been screwed over with cuts on NDIS while private companies use it as a honeypot to increase their profits. As well as this, precarious employment and rising cost of living puts pressure most acutely on students with disabilities. I think that to face these issues student unions should be activist bodies, organising student protests to fight for our rights. Rather than sitting down with the university management who are willing to attack students’ rights in the pursuit of profit, the student union should be vocal and fight back.

If you vote for me I’ll continue to fight for students’ rights and help build towards the university we deserve and a student union that leads campaigns against the corporate university and government.

Vote [1] Left Action for an Activist Student Union!
