Hello, my name is Ellie Venning and I’m running to be your Women’s Officer with Rebuild!

I’m studying a Bachelor’s of Environmental Policy and Management, and studying Gender Studies in my electives. The role of Women’s Officer needs to be taken seriously, to best advocate for the nearly 50% of University of Adelaide students that identify as female.

In 2025, to make our university safer and more welcoming for women, I want to push for the following policies:

• Free menstrual products in bathrooms for students in need.
• Making it easier to change your preferred name on MyUni to avoid deadnaming
• Strong collaboration with the recently reaffiliated “Women’s Collective”
• Improved processes for reporting sexual harassment on campus
• Drive a cultural change within student politics

The Rebuild team and I are REAL advocates for students and the issues that affect them, which is why in 2025 we want to push these causes:

• Capping exam weighting at 50%

• Embedding student voices in university management committees
• Practical action for a greener university
• Ensuring the merger transition doesn’t disadvantage students

We’re progressive and ready to prove ourselves. Vote Rebuild to improve female students at University of Adelaide and bring practical change for students!
