About the opportunity

Cancer Council SA is seeking a dedicated Volunteer SunSmart Administration Officer to support the delivery of the SunSmart Schools & Early Childhood Program. This initiative helps education & implementation of effective sun protection policies aligned with Cancer Council SA guidance. As a Volunteer SunSmart Administration Officer, you’ll provide essential administrative support to the Prevention Coordinators.

Your tasks will include:

  • Maintaining & updating the SunSmart database (Salesforce CRM)
  • Communicating with participating & prospective sites via phone & email
  • Drafting e-news content & managing mail merges for letters & resources
  • Reviewing online applications & assessing eligibility based on National SunSmart criteria
  • Packaging & distributing educational materials
  • Supporting the wider Prevention & Advocacy team as needed
  • Training will be provided to ensure you’re confident in Cancer Council’s sun protection recommendations & systems.

Skills & Experience:

  • Strong attention to detail and time management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interpret policy and apply eligibility criteria
  • Familiarity with CRM systems ideal but not essential
  • Confident and professional phone manner
  • Enthusiastic team player

Commitment and Location

The volunteer roles is based at Cancer Council SA, 202 Greenhill Road Eastwood
Average of 5 hours per week on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday
*with flexibility during semester breaks or exam periods

Requirements & Conditions
While working at Cancer Council SA all our employees & volunteers must be non-smokers & not use e-cigarettes at Cancer Council SA sites & are required to promote a healthy lifestyle & adopt a sun smart attitude.

The successful applicant will require a National Police Clearance and Department of Human Services Working with Children Check (these will be provided by Cancer Council SA).
