The Society of Curatorial and Heritage Practice, better known as CURIO Club, is a dynamic community at the University of Adelaide for current and former students of Museum and Curatorial Studies.
CURIO Club provides a platform for students and alumni to connect, collaborate, and thrive in the fields of museums, galleries, libraries, archives, curation, and heritage.
The club offers an array of social and professional development opportunities designed to enrich members' academic and career experiences. Social events include a weekly pub quiz team, study groups, and group visits to local museums and galleries, fostering a sense of community and shared exploration.
On the professional development front, CURIO Club facilitates collaborations with local organisations to host exhibitions and events, providing members with hands-on experience and industry exposure. The club also organises valuable networking opportunities with professionals in the GLAM sector.
The club also hosts CURIO: Adelaide Journal of Curatorial and Heritage Practice, an open-access journal for publishing research in the humanities and related disciplines, with a particular emphasis on scholarship from museum and curatorial studies, art history, heritage studies and related areas of research.
