Hello!
We are Adelaide University Evangelical Students (we call ourselves ES), an active inter-denominational Christian club on campus. We’re excited about growing personally in our faith in Jesus, and about getting practical with Jesus’s mission to spread his Good News to other students during our time at University.
What do we do?
Every week of term time we run student-led Bible Study Groups. These are a great way to make new friends and to learn together how the Bible is relevant to our lives today. Bible Talks also happen weekly, which are uni-student-oriented talks based on a biblical passage given by staffworkers with bible college training. There are opportunities also for social times, to learn skills in reading the Bible, to practice evangelism (with our walk-up evangelism group), to catch up regularly with a staffworker for discipleship, and to volunteer with public stalls on campus.
Every year we run a number of camps, especially Commencement Camp at the start of the year (19-21 Feb, 2025), and the 5-day Mid Year Conference in the winter holidays (21-25 July, 2025). These are a great opportunity to make new friends, eat good food, enjoy fun activities, and explore the bible as we dive deep into a theme during sessions and studies. Once a year we also do Jesus Week, where we run heaps of visible, easy-invite events to bring your friends along to, to hear more about Jesus.
Who is it for?
Our club members are students across all north terrace universities; both Adelaide and UniSA. Anybody is welcome to come to our events, Christian or not – we’re trying to reach everyone with the Gospel’s good news. Signing up as an official member involves understanding and agreeing with our doctrinal basis, which summarises commonly held Christian beliefs. But everyone is welcome to join our activities, from bible study groups to camps, not just official members.
