About Us

"Welcome to the Current Middle Ages!"

The Society for Creative Anachronism is dedicated to researching and re-creating the arts, skills, and traditions of the pre-17th-century world.

We encourage active participation as the learning process. To learn about the clothing of the period, you research it, then sew and wear it yourself. To learn brewing, you make (and sample!) your own wines, meads and beers.

You can participate in armoured combat, rapier combat, archery, costuming, cooking, music, dance, calligraphy, heraldry, and much more. If it was done before the 1600s, odds are you'll find it in the SCA."
