Details
Our research group is looking for healthy male volunteers to participate in a research study investigating the effects of calcium (a mineral in the dairy product such as milk and yogurt) on the GI response to a meal.
Eligibility criteria:
• Male
• Aged 18-70 years
• Your BMI (weight/height squared: kg/m*m) will need to be 28-38
• No other significant illness
• HbA1c of 6%-7.9% (we will test this at a screening if unsure)
• With or without impaired fasting glucose (>6.1 mmol/L)
• No food allergies and not following a specific diet (such as gluten free or vegetarian)
• Not currently trying to lose or gain weight
• Non-smoker
