Student Care is an independent non-academic service to support students studying at the University of Adelaide. Our Education and Welfare Officers do not make decisions but can help students understand their options when navigating the University’s Policies and Procedures.
The Student Grievance Resolution Process outlines the steps to take for an assessment grievance.
The first step is to request further information or review from the original marker, usually, this is the Course Coordinator.
This will help clarify the marking, comments and feedback provided for you to assess if you have grounds for the next step, a Stage 2 Formal Review – Request for Remark with the Head of School. This request needs to be made in writing and outline valid grounds for a review.
Please be aware that the remark grade is final, and could be less or more than the original mark that you received. Learn more.
The Academic Faculties directory can help you find the appropriate Head of School for a Stage 2 Formal review request.
In addition to the feedback from your Course Coordinator, resources that you may want to refer to in determining if you have grounds to request a remark include the course outline, specific assessment details including rubric (if available) and any other announcements in MyUni pertaining to your assessment piece.
You are encouraged to address any questions about your grade according to the timeframes outlined on Page 4 of the Student Grievance Resolution Process (SGRP).
