Casual Vacancy: Disability Officer


Role Description

The Disability Officer is responsible for the representation and advocacy of all students who identify as having a disability. The officer will advocate on behalf of students who identify as having a disability through liaising with the University, running campaigns or through any other means as decided by the member. They are a voting member of the Student Representative Council (SRC) and have the same rights and responsibilities as other members.


To be eligible, applicants must identify as having a disability, mental illness, or chronic illness.

Role requirements

The Disability Officer will be required to submit a report every second meeting of the SRC (meetings are held fortnightly). Meeting attendance at the fortnightly meetings of the SRC during the academic year is also required.
As a regular member, the officer may also be asked to volunteer at SRC events or to assist other members in their campaigns.
