Yang

Degree and year of study?

1st -year Master of Biomedical student at UofA.

What inspired you to engage with the office and role(s) you currently hold?

My motivation for joining the SRC stems from a desire to contribute to the well-being of fellow students, organize enjoyable activities, and advocate for their rights, ultimately ensuring a memorable university experience.

What Clubs are you involved with at UofA?

Currently, I am actively involved in both the Adelaide University Chinese Students Association and the Conversation, Culture, and Connect Club (C3 Club). Initially, I joined C3 Club due to a sense of unfamiliarity with UofA's campus life and hesitancy as a non-native English speaker to seek help. C3 Club provided invaluable language assistance, enabling me to communicate confidently in English, and has been instrumental in my understanding of Aussie culture.

What led you to join the club(s)?

Favourite holiday destination/activity?

Cultural exchange is a significant part of my holiday activities, and I particularly enjoy engaging in conversations with students from different countries. When it comes to studying on campus.

Favourite place to study on campus?

the Hub Center is my preferred place.

What do you hope to achieve in your office and role(s) in 2024?

Looking ahead to 2024, my goal in the SRC role is to secure more benefits for UofA students. As advice to new students at the University of Adelaide, I recommend joining clubs that align with your interests to combat loneliness, finding like-minded friends, and ensuring a fulfilling university experience!!!
