What inspired you to engage with the office and role(s) you currently hold?
I have been in representative roles for many years, advocating for student interests in various forums and situations. I enjoy empowering my peers around me, creating a supportive and vibrant community, and ensuring that our time at the university is not only academically fulfilling but also personally enriching.
What do you hope to achieve in your office and role(s) in 2024-25?
Many years ago, when I first put my hand up for representative roles, I thought about a million things to achieve throughout my terms in the past. But over time, I realized that there’s really one core thing that I should do, and that is being there for you! And for you all the way!
I hope I can use my skills and experiences to contribute to your success at UofA and be there for you to achieve the best version of yourself on campus.
What is your number one tip for a new student?
University is not just about attending classes and passing exams. It's a unique environment for intellectual growth. Engage deeply with your subjects and explore topics that intrigue you beyond the curriculum.
Pro tip – often your lecturers are much more interesting than you think they are. They don’t bite, so don’t be afraid to ask them questions or simply say 'hi' and see where that conversation leads you.
What is something—big or small—that you are really good at?
Not many people know that I have a green thumb. I also get a bit speechless and irritated when I hear someone waters their cactus twice a day to 'keep them alive'.
What would we most likely find you doing on the weekend?
I often enjoy a cook-up and drinks session with my friends. Weekends are the best to catch up on 'life' and reconnect with the people who care about you.
