Ahoy! I'm Grace. As a YouX Board member, I hope to be a voice for students. I want to promote an inclusive and culture and work towards funding more student-run events. As a rural student, I know how difficult it can be to move to the city and study, so I want to also raise awareness for and support other rural students.

?? UofA Course

Double Degree of a Bachelor of Law and Bachelor of International Relations (Third year)

?? What is something—big or small—that you are really good at?

Driving boats! I am in the process of obtaining my Master <24 skipper’s ticket.

?? What is your number one tip for a new student?

Get involved! There are so many ways to get involved around campus, including events, sports teams, over 160 clubs and of course the UniBar. University is an experience, and you definitely get out what you put in.

?? What three words would your friends use to describe you?

Selfless, driven and “shark girl” (I worked on the Shark Cage Diving boats)

?? What would we most likely find you doing on the weekend?

Most weekends I spend time on, in or around the water. Whether it be laying on the beach, diving wrecks and reefs or skippering boats, I usually find some way to connect with the marine environment. Either that, or I’ll be playing with my sister’s puppy. ??
